Nobel prize in physics awarded for successes in lighting technology

It’s a great day for our industry when you hear that a Nobel prize is awarded for development of LEDs.  In this CNN article the awards committee was cited as saying these individuals "hold great promise for increasing the quality of life for over 1.5 billion people around the world who lack access to electricity grids."
